Committed to Biodiversity and Heritage

As part of the â€œPlan de Monitoreo y Restauración de Biodiversidadâ€ (Monitoring Biodiversity Restoration Plan), along with university specialists and independent environment advisers, we have finished surveying the flora and fauna baseline, and have preserved seeds from 19 native species in our areas that we carried out assisted replanting projects with. We have also transplanted more than 5,000 plants near the wells, in an effort to balance the ecosystems.

139 trees planted in Catriel

We planted 139 trees on the bicycle lane Catriel is building with our support. The species were acquired at the Pensamiento Nativo Plant Nursery, which belongs to the Familia Foundation. This foundation works with young people from Neuquén to prevent school dropouts and generate agricultural projects linked to social and solidarity economy.

Committed to carbon footprint reduction

We are committed to reducing our GHG emissions intensity by 30% by the end of 2021. The announcement made by Miguel Galuccio, president and CEO of Vista, during the 2021 Q2 earnings webcast underscores the progress of the multi-year plan mentioned in the first sustainability report presented by the company.

Driven by protecting the environment from day one

We manage our operation at Vaca Muerta with a sustainable approach. At Bajada del Palo Oeste, we optimize our last-mile sand logistics by using sandboxes for transportation and silo bags for storage. Also, we transport 100% of our hydrocarbon and produced water in pipelines and flexible pipes, reducing the carbon footprint associated with trucking.

Communities

We promote amateur sports in Catriel

We support Manuela Pereyraâ€™s career development. The young 15-year-old promising table-tennis player from Catriel is first in the Argentine ranking in the Under 15 and older categories, stands out in the U15 world ranking and is the 4th best ranked Latin American player. We are proud to accompany her in her sports commitments.

Team players: we support CatrielÂ´s sports clubs

More than 300 girls and boys from Unión Deportiva de Catriel Club, train at our recreational facilities in the town. Playing sports is essential to help children develop values and key social skills for life.

Enhancing the social fabric through community sports

We closed a strategic alliance with the Laureus Foundation to promote Community Sports as the backbone for enhancing the social fabric. We developed programs, actions and initiatives along with the Municipality of Catriel to support their elementary schools and encourage specialized training for Physical Education teachers.

Supporting the Pumpasâ€™ World Dream

We see sports as a central focus for all people to be valued from their diversity. This is why we have strengthened the support towards the Argentine Pumpas inclusive Mixed Ability Rugby team in 2022. Supporting the Pumpas team is part of our Diversity, Equality and Inclusion strategy where we have established alliances along with NGOs and social entities, which focus on generating more inclusive activities.

Aiming for a Future with Equal Opportunities

We have renewed our commitment to education, and this year advanced three volunteer programs with â€œEnseñá x Argentinaâ€. The first program aims to offer tutoring; the second, to develop socioemotional skills; and the third, to generate learning, research and projects related to the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education system. Over 100 students from Catriel, San Patricio del Chañar and Buenos Aires will be able to access these programs.

Contributing to social welfare, employment and inclusion in Catriel

We strengthened our commitment to Catriel development, and joined the Municipality and the Secretary of Energy of Río Negro to build a bikeway linking the urban area with Route 151. In addition to promoting healthy habits, this initiative fosters inclusion and employment development in the village.
